Welcome
to TheFumias.com.
The Fumias are Adam, Jennifer, Joshua,
Jack, Alex and Tucker the dog. Since 2002, we have maintained this
site in order to share words, pictures and information with family and
friends. We're glad you stopped by.
The story of how Jen and Adam met is interesting.
They had been near one another for most of their lives, but never knew
each other until later in life.
Jennifer and Adam were born and grew up very close
to one another. In fact, when they were babies, they lived in the
same town Cheshire, CT, not far from one another. During Elementary
School and Jr. High, they were in neighboring towns when Adam moved to
Wallingford. Then, when Adam moved to Rocky Hill, they were only
about 20 minutes apart.
After High School, they both went off to college -
Jen to St. Olaf in Minnesota, and Adam to Northeastern in Boston.
However, fate would bring them close to one another again. Jen
enrolled in grad school in Boston, and interned with Hospice Care, Inc, an
affiliate of the VNA of Boston. And, you guessed it, Adam worked for
the VNAB. Making a daily trip to the Hospice branch, Adam met up
with Jen and they have been together ever since.
They lived together in Waltham when they got married
in December, 2001. As has been the case with both of their lives,
they worked very close to one another during this time. Adam was
working at Sherrill House in Jamaica Plain. Jen was working at the
VA, first at the W. Roxbury branch only a few minutes away, and then at
the JP branch, (of course) right across the street! In September,
2001, they were blessed with the birth of their first son, Joshua.
After that, they moved out to the suburbs, and the family grew, with the
birth of Jack in November 2005 and then Alex in July of 2007.
Life is a journey, and as it turns out, Jen and Adam
have, whether knowingly or not, spent most of it close to one another.
